The savebrighton campaign was founded in November 2007 with the primary aim of fighting Explore Living's plans to use Brighton Marina as a 'brown field site' for the building of tower blocks.
Thanks are also due to our hundreds of individual supporters, who include Lord Brooke of Alverthorpe, David Driver (former Design Director of The Times), Annabel Giles, Professor Desmond Cohen and Les Reed (composer of Delilah - the first three words of whose refrain was an appropriate comment on Explore Living's Marina Development)
Thankfully, Explore Living's planning application was finally rejected, but we remain alert to the possibility of future threats and savebrighton will continue to campaign for the protection and improvement of Brighton and its sympathetic development.
